New Music Video Premiere: The Callous Daoboys Deliver Absurdist Chaos in "Two Headed Trout" and "The Demon of Unreality Limping Like a Dog"

2/12/2025

HaloUnion Productions, in collaboration with Grant Butler Media, presents the latest music video production from metal/mathcore band The Callous Daoboys. Featuring their new tracks "Two Headed Trout" and "The Demon of Unreality Limping Like a Dog", this cinematic release delivers a visually stunning and chaotic experience.
The video employs cinema vérité-inspired camera work, creating an immersive, raw energy that mirrors the intensity of the band's performance. The handheld cinematography captures the chaotic, unscripted moments, enhancing the feeling of unpredictability. Sudden zooms, quick cuts, and naturalistic lighting add to the surreal nature of the absurdist talk show setting, pulling the audience deeper into the frenzied atmosphere. Filmed in Atlanta, this music video showcases an absurdist talk show nightmare, complementing the band's unpredictable sound. Written by frontman Carson Pace and directed by Nathan Walters, Ben Walters, and Grant Butler, the video blends high-energy performance footage with surreal, avant-garde imagery.

This music video release introduces the first exhibit from The Callous Daoboys' upcoming album, 'I Don't Want to See You in Heaven', set for release on May 16 via MNRK Heavy. Following up their acclaimed 2022 album 'Celebrity Therapist' and 2023 EP 'God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys', this project offers a deeply personal exploration of emotion, failure, and artistry.

Vocalist Carson Pace explains, “This album is a preserved artifact of failure—if it survives forever, is it truly a failure?”

This music video production pushes the boundaries of traditional heavy music visuals by incorporating a mix of cinematic story telling elements and vérité-style movement, ensuring an organic yet controlled sense of movement. The fusion of avant-garde cinematography and raw, documentary-style shots heightens the tension, making each scene feel alive and unpredictable. Produced by HaloUnion Productions and Grant Butler Media, this project highlights expert music video cinematography, immersive VFX by HaloUnion, and precise editing by Grant Butler. The filming locations, Studio 5055 and Digital Thunderdome, provided the perfect setting.
